What You Need To Know About Your Vacation in Roatan.

We are located 15 minutes from French Harbour where you will find banks, supermarket, boutiques and local restaurants. We are 45 minutes from the tourist area of West End/West Bay which has a variety of bars and restaurants.

The resort is located in the beautiful, secluded East end of the island. There are water sport activities on-site and our staff are happy to arrange island tours, zipline excursions or visits to the Iguana Farm which are located a short 10-15 minute drive away. Transportation is included in all tours.

Yes, we do have transfers to/from the airport and ferry included in the rates. You must send us your arrival details. We are not responsible for any payment of transportation if you have not sent us your arrival details. The schedule for return transportation to the airport or ferry is available at the Front Desk.

Yes, we have both! The resort is located on the longest, private beach in Roatan. Our pool is located on the terrace outside the main building with views of the beach and ocean.

Our resort has one main restaurant serving a variety of cuisines. Urudau Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets, as well as our a la carte menus with a variety of finger food and seafood specialties. Indoor and outdoor dining areas are available. We have a bar inside the restaurant and waiter service on the pool terrace and beach. Our Beach Palapa Bar is open seasonally.

Restaurant opens at 6 am and closes at 10 pm, bar is open from 10 am – 10 pm.

We are located on the Northeast shore of the island, just 30 minutes away from the airport.

We have direct flights year-round from Houston, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Dallas and El Salvador. Seasonally there are flights from Newark, Toronto, Montreal and Milan. The airlines are: Avianca, American Airlines, United, Delta, Sunwing and Transat.

The Galaxy Wave ferry operates twice daily from La Ceiba to Roatan. You can also travel by air from San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa or La Ceiba. Domestic airlines serving Roatan from these cities include Avianca, CM Airlines, SOSA Airlines and Lahnsa Air.

We work routinely to control the mosquito and sand fly (or sand flea) populations. We do, however, recommend carrying a bottle of bug repellent especially for time spent on the beach.

Our Island is very relaxed and in most restaurants casual to informal is normal and accepted.

We encourage guests to drink bottled water or the purified water provided in each guest room although the tap water at the resort comes from a local well and is safe.

Tipping is greatly appreciated and we suggest you do so at the end of your trip.

Yes, laundry service is available.

If you have plans to stay a week or more we strongly recommend renting a vehicle to tour the island. Rates start at $55/day. The island is easy to navigate. We do recommend caution while driving due to the hilly, winding nature of the roads.

Yes, we have free WIFI available in the rooms and main buildings.

We do not have an ATM machine in the resort. There are ATMs located in each town and at the airport. Please note that these machines only dispense Lempiras, the Honduran currency. The exchange rate is approximately 19 Lempira to the US Dollar.

On the island, US Dollars are used as much as the local currency and most places have their prices in US dollars. Many businesses will give you change back in Lempiras even if you pay in dollars. It is best not to bring bills over $20 as larger bills may not be accepted.

Electricity is 110 volts, 60 cycle AC, the same as in the United States. Visitors from countries with other electrical standards will need adaptors.

You need a passport that is valid for 6 months after your arrival. You will receive a 90 day tourist Visa when you arrive. You should check to see if there are any special requirements for citizens of your country but currently this is all that is required for USA, Canada, UK and European Union.

Departure tax is already included in airline tickets, except for local flights and charters.

Yes, to both questions. All major credit cards are widely accepted. In restaurants, it is best to ask before ordering, since some smaller businesses don’t accept credit cards. All of the banks will give cash advances or you can use an ATM. Remember that Honduran ATMs only give Lempiras.

Each room has a hair dryer but the resort does not have irons.

Yes, they do.
